Welcome To
Sacred Analogue
A contemplative audio/visual prayer project
marked by honest beauty, grounded in analog technologies,
and partnered with liturgical prayers, old and new.
About The Project
Our modern life is marked by constant hurry, never ending distractions bombarding our daily life, and ever changing algorithms vying for our attention and priority. We strive for rest. We long for peace; for quiet and moments of calm focus. We crave the tangible in our digital driven world, for something organic that connects with our souls on a deeper level of mystery.
It’s out of this that Sacred Analogue was born. A contemplative audio/visual prayer project marked by the simple honest beauty of the world around us, grounded in the analog technologies of motion picture film and audio on tape, and partnered with the deeply transformational words of liturgical prayers, old and new.
Sacred Analogue is slow, methodical, and deliberate. It’s crafted intentionally to stand apart from the hurried pace of our modern life. To provide a moment of respite and safe harbor from the ever constant noise. To stop, observe, contemplate, and be renewed.
Each episode is crafted in an analog / digital hybrid process. Images are captured on Super 8 motion picture film and scanned digitally at a ultra high resolution. Audio is recorded digitally, then printed to tape infusing it with rich analog qualities before returning back to digital. Like the intention of the project itself, the creation process requires focus, patience, and intentionality. The artistic vision behind Sacred Analogue is to capture simple, common beauty with simple, common tools.
Each season of Sacred Analogue will contain a curated selection of prayers from a variety of authors and titles. Episodes will release on a weekly basis during the length of each season. To gain early access and have each episode mailed directly to your inbox, please sign up for Sacred Analogue’s free mailing list. Thank you for engaging with this prayer project, may it be an instrument of peace and renewal for your soul.

Demo Episode - For Joy In God’s Creation
O heavenly Father,
you have filled the world with beauty:
Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works; that, rejoicing in your whole creation,
we may learn to serve you with gladness;
for the sake of him through whom all things were made,
your Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
